Software Project Manager (Agile and Legacy)

Job Description:

Coe Truman Technologies (CTT) is seeking a Project Manager with experience managing product development teams in both an agile software development environment and a legacy maintenance development environment. This position is responsible for leading the teams to drive scenarios from ideas to completed software. The primary role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize development projects according to deadlines. This includes identifying bottlenecks and managing the efforts of staff and third-party resources in order to deliver projects according to plan. This position is located in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications:

• BS in computer or information science, mathematics, engineering, or management information systems or equivalent work experience

• 7-10 years of IT project management experience; PMP Certification or similar (preferred)

• 2+ years of staff or resource management experience

• Experience utilizing a formal project methodology

• Experience as a Scrum Master or leading an agile team

• Expert in MS Office tools: Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint and Team Foundation Server

• Exceptional planning and organizational skills including project scheduling, budget tracking, resource allocation, and impact analysis around project changes

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

• Ability to negotiate acceptable solutions to complex problems across multiple business and/or technical areas

• Ability to cope with changing priorities and multiple assignments

Essential Duties:

• Leads product development teams in both an agile software development environment and a legacy maintenance development environment.

• Collects feedback through agile practices such as burndown charts and retrospectives, and interprets trends in order to promote continuous improvement

• Works with Product Managers to understand the vision, objectives, and intended RIO behind the enhancements, initiatives, and platforms being proposed for development

• Collaborates effectively with management and other groups within the Product Development team across geographically dispersed sites

• Tracks and reports on the state of design, test, and product quality during all phases of product development; identifies project risks, and determines strategies to address them

• Creates and maintains the resource utilization mechanism

• Effectively manages the bug process

• Maintains and tunes agile and maintenance software development life cycle processes

• Directly manages the performance of two product development staff: provides direction on assigned duties, serves as an escalation point of contact, and ensures ongoing professional development

• Manages the activities, process, metrics, and relationship with offshore vendor
